{"id":1482,"date":"2025-12-02T21:59:32","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T20:59:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/collectif-metis.org\/?p=1482"},"modified":"2025-12-02T22:32:05","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T21:32:05","slug":"lettre-commune-reforme-europeenne-production-et-commercialisation-semences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/collectif-metis.org\/index.php\/2025\/12\/02\/lettre-commune-reforme-europeenne-production-et-commercialisation-semences\/","title":{"rendered":"Joint letter \u2013 production and marketing plant reproductive material european reform: 250 european organisations urge Member States to protect and enhance agrobiodiversity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As the negotiations on the new EU Regulation on the Production and Marketing of Plant Reproductive Material (PRM) are coming to an end at the Council level, a large coalition of more than 200 organisations representing small-scale farmers, breeders, seed savers and environmental NGOs sent a joint letter to EU Ministers asking them to urgently revise their position on the PRM reform. <strong>M\u00e8tis endorses this letter, which sets out the minimum basis for defending the right to share and select farmers&rsquo; seeds<\/strong>. The signatories warn that the current Council proposal fails to provide the legal space necessary for farmers, breeders, and seed initiatives to continue conserving and developing Europe\u2019s crop diversity.
